Dental Update

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

**WARNING** The following is not for the squeamish. If there are children present have them look away from the computer!

I had a tooth start acting up last week (abscess fun-o-rama). The dentist said it needs to come out. But that leaves me without enough molars to chew decently. Recommendation – pull all the lowers and drop one of these in –

The whole process takes about 6 weeks to manufacture the denture and then get the oral surgeon out here to do the work.

I’m looking forward to no more problems with the lower teeth, but am concerned about the denture possibly affecting my speech. I don’t want to come out of this with a “whistle”.

On Three

I know this won’t be much of an entry, but you know how thoughts get stuck in your head until you deal with them. So –

Why is everything done on the “count of 3″? Why not 4 or 5?

Tchaikovsky: Symphony N0.4, 1812 Overture, Marche salve – Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia orchestra

This is my favorite version of the 1812 Overture. I first heard this album in the early 1970’s. A friend of mine had the record and I taped it onto cassette. The tape has since gone the way of the dinosaur and I have often wondered if there was a cd version somewhere. But the recording has long been out of print.
On a whim I started searching through Amazon.com and found it on cd. It’s a used disc, but in mint condition.

“Whoo Hoo “, JohnStuff says, reaching for his credit card.

The reasons I have been looking for this version of 1812 are:
1. Opening hymn sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
2. Awesome artillery
