Which Dead Rock Star Are You?

John Lennon
You are John Lennon! You’re a nerd to many young and old, and loved for it too. You have influenced many different people, young and old. You have magnetism. Oh, he died in 1980.

I actually glad this “fad” is a thing of the past. And we can probably thank Ted Turner for this travesty.
The reason I am ranting about this today is because I happened to catch an old movie on Turner Classic Movies this afternoon. And it had been colorized. I’m not sure what the movie was since I missed the opening credits.
Let’s look at an example –
Notice in the black and white version that the image is more definitive, sharper.
However, the colorized version seems to have been washed out. It’s not as sharp.
I have noticed that some colorized movies have an overall brownish tint. Some have a blueish tint. But none have a normal color balance.
In the movie today there was a woman driving a red car. It looked like it had been spray painted with red neon. And speaking of red, one of the main male characters was referred to as “Red”. I would assume that would mean the color of his hair. But the movie had his hair black.
It is said that Alfred Hitchcock purposely filmed some of his movies in black and white even though color was available since it provided a better “feel”. I hope they never colorize Psycho.
I hate this…….
Someone wants to make a point so they say – “If we can send a man to the moon, we should be able to:
a) cure world hunger
b) cure AIDS
c) keep kids safe online
d) any other stupid comparison you care to make”
I actually say a young girl on tv say the internet line. The two have nothing to do with each other!
You’re wrong if you think sending a man to the moon gives us to ability to automatically solve other problems. I know, you’ll say look at all the money we spent to send the man up there. Well, Americans spend more $$$$ on cosmetics every year than NASA spent to put that man on the moon!
As far as making the internet safe for kids – I have the easy solution that no one wants to deal with:
Parental Supervision / Responsibility
